Savoury Cheeze & Onion Scones

Units Scale
  • 250 g plain flour (or 175 g plain flour + 75 g wholemeal)
  • 1/2 cup soya milk (plant milk)
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegan cheeze
  • 1/4 cup spring onions
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil (see notes)


  1. First thing you do is add vinegar to the 1/2 cup milk and leave to stand for 5 minutes
  2. Next Make sure your oven is preheating to 200 C
  3. Add your flour, baking powder, salt, to a bowl. Give it a good whisk to ensure baking powder is fully incorporated into the flower
  4. Add in your cheese and chopped spring onions.
  5. Once your milk has curdled pop it into the mix. Add in the olive and stir until your dough starts clumping together.
  6. Give your dough a light kneading and shape it into a round.
    Cut into 8 wedges, then place on a baking tray. Brush some plant milk over the top.
  7. Pop into a hot oven for about 20 to 25 minutes
